A Sunday Afternoon @ The Manningham Centre

I have played at the Manningham Center a few times with different groups and on my own, but this time it was a little different.

I asked my Mum (Wendy) to join me and we entertained the families, friends, residents and workers at Cassier House.

It was

loads of fun, so much that we’re back there in September. This time with my Dad (John) too.

Thank you to Wendy and Shirley from the friendship group for organizing these regular events.

Annie Smith & Jazz Notes @ Kojo Brown

Saturday 26th April, 2014

I was very happy to be asked to play with Annie Smith and Jazz Notes.  Annie really knows how to make every song she sings “just special!”.  She has so much fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.  Playing alongside Kevin and David is always wonderful.

Hope we get to do something like this again – it was a great night of music.

Soirée Musique @ Francesca’s – Melbourne Music Performers

25th April, 2014

One of the best Soirée Musique events we’ve run.

There were so many people infrancescas2 the venue at one point.  The House Band was really in top form and the open mic performers were excellent.

Francesca’s is such a fantastic venue.  There is enough room for the band to be comfortable and even space for everyone to have a dance.  At one point it felt like we were in some funky club in Northcote, then I realized we were!

We are really happy with how the event is IMG_2318running and are excited to announce the next meet-up event for 30th May, 2014.

Hope to see you there.

ANZAC Day @ Ringwood RSL – The Swingmasters

Back in 2014 after a missed year in 2013 (unfortunate booking blunder).

The Swingmasters have played at the RSL on ANZAC Day for over 10 years, entertaining the members and guests in the Members lounge.  We always have a great time, and this year was no exception.

It’s great watching friends getting up, and having a sing with the band, seeing some people that we only see once a year is just fantastic.

The afternoon always complete with a blast from the Ringwood Pipe Band.

Looking forward to 2015.

Swingmasters @ Burnside – Celebrating Anzac Day

This was the second  year we have celebrated the memory of our Anzac’s with the people at Burnisde.  Such a beautiful retirement village, and everyone was very, very friendly.

The Swingmasters – with the full band; Wendy, John, Graeme, Joe and Me, enjoyed lots of laughs, dancing and maybe just a little too much fun!

It was especially nice to have Joe (our drummer) back and we hope his health continues to improve.  He has definitely not lost his touch or his voice!

We’ll be back in 2015.

Standing Tall @ Dizzy’s

22nd April, 2014.

I was super excited to have the chance to play at Dizzy’s with Standing Tall. A really nice bunch cialis 20mg tablets for sale in australia for men of musicians, very friendly and I really enjoyed the venue.

It was especially nice to have my friends and family come to enjoy the music that was on offer.

I must have made an impression with the Band – they invited me back, so that’s a good thing?. I get to play with them again at Dizzy’s on the 29th of May – another special day for me.

Swingmasters @ Buckley Park Bowls Club

A fun night was had by all.  Great dancing, fantastic music and a really happy group enjoying the evening.

I always enjoy the surprising connections that my musical friends have….  Had no idea our drummer for the night Allan knew the Trumpeter, who’s been a friend of The Swingmasters for many, many years.  It was as if we’d all been playing together for years.

I look forward to playing at Buckley Park again soon.
