Sunday 25th January, 2015.

We were invited back to Ruby’s and this time Kevin decided that we would add a little more oomph to the band, so we added some extra players – that’ll do it every time!

Annie Smith, Tony Luxmore & Allan Smith joined Kevin, Daniel and Me for an evening that was really special.

The music was great, the audience enjoyed themselves, so did we!

Not sure when we’ll be back at Ruby’s but hopefully it’ll be soon!

 

We’d had a meeting with Francesca’s early January to confirm the next few months dates and we were really looking forward to January’s event.

Thanks Ben for confirming the next few months for Melbourne Music Performers – Soiree Musique at Francesca’s.

What a great start to a new year!!  One of the biggest groups we’d had to date.

We had a really wonderful supportive crowd at Francesca’s for our first soiree back for 2015.

Lots of regulars and some new members joining in the fun.

It’s always a great night – the house band plays so well and supports all the open mic and guest artist performers professionally.  Thanks guys!

And a big thanks to the staff at Francesca’s for supporting our event each month.

We will see everyone back on Feb 20th at Francesca’s.

We were invited back to Ruby’s again.  Lovely evening, this time with Doug Kuhn on bass, joining Kevin on Guitar, Me on Flute.

I’d rushed from an earlier gig with Standing Tall at Open Studio, arriving just as everyone was almost set up (Phew!)

It was another fun night,  very nice audience and a great way to spend a Sunday evening.  Thanks to Robert and Edith for following me from Northcote and joining in the fun.

Can’t want for more really, lovely friends, pretty terrific music and a friendly, interesting venue!

We might just be invited back!

Thanks to some of my friends who had made the long trip to come and see Standing Tall.

I had to race off a little early to get to my next gig and was lucky my friends followed me.

Always appreciate the support of my friends.

Standing Tall will be at Open Studio again in February (after the Halls Gap Jazz Festival)

 

Being in the right place at the right time!.

Kevin and I met Robert (the owner of Ruby’s) a few weeks ago, just had a chat and what do you know we get an invite to play.  Lucky us!

New Year’s Day – We invited Andrew to join us for a few hours of musical fun.

We all had a great time, hopefully we’ll get to play at Ruby’s again.

Has it really been a year?

Last year I made the trip with my lovely parents over the West Gate Bridge to Altona for I think the 23rd year in a row I’ve worked NYE with them.  (not always at Altona – for many years it was the Ringwood RSL)  It’s always a great night – almost too much fun, can’t possibly be work.

We all survived another night (just !) – I got to do my favorite dances – The Bootscootin’ Boogie, Waltz across Texas, Nutbush – there was even a chicken dance ( I dashed off the floor for that one).

Thanks for another great year Mum ,Dad and Graeme – This year we were joined by Alan Smith on drums and Peter O’Brien (bass).  Missed our dear Friend and long-time Drummer Joe, as he was unwell.

Look forward to NYE 2015 – Hope everyone stays healthy!
