Our second gig at Burrinja in 2015. Good vibe. Wade and Daniel joined Kevin and me for what was a great afternoon of music, and some time for some happy snaps in the gardens afterwards.

Thanks to our family and friends who came to support us.

Hopefully we’ll

be back there in 2016

Playing with Body and Soul @ Inverloch Sept 13 2015

Always thrilled to play with Jan and Body and Soul, everyone has so much fun and the music is always great.  The last time we played at the Inverloch RSL was for the Jazz festival in March, so it was lovely to be invited back to play for the jazz club.

It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon.  Good friends, Lovely music and a really appreciative crowd.

Ann & Wendy – Manningham

My Mum (Wendy) and I were booked for a fun afternoon earlier in April this year – so when I was booked again for another performance the request came with….. please can you bring Wendy – she’s just fantastic.

Well! as if I didn’t know that already.

So, on the 30th August, we entertained the lovely residents and their family and friends at the Manningham Centre Cassia House.

Lots of great tunes, sing-alongs, and Wendy doing some great tunes, and I got to play some of my favorite flute tunes too.

A lovely afternoon – Thanks MUM!

MTWJD – My Time with John Denver – 2015

Late last year I was approached by Jimmy Fong (singer, songwriter, guitarist – John Denver Fan!).  He had heard me playing at Kelly’s and made contact with me.  He asked if I might like to audition for an upcoming show.  I thought about it for a few minutes and said YES – but unfortunately I couldn’t get to the audition – Lucky me, I got the part anyway!. (no other flute players auditioned?, maybe not! – they could have been in Castlemaine or Halls Gap?)

jimmy mtwjd2I was to welcomed to the band, had a few practices and waited for the shows to be announced.  Finally with lots of work from Jimmy and his lovely wife Julie – we had 4 shows announced 28-29 August and 4-5 September.  The last show being a corporate function.

The shows went off so well – audiences packed the Father in the Chapel venue in Cranbourne and the first two shows (2-3 off sell-outs).  The Show on the 4th was SOLD OUT.

I had so much fun playing the music of John Denver.  Jimmy Fong is a fine performer and the members of the band were fantastic.

jimmy mtwjdI don’t usually get to costume up for my gigs – but thoroughly enjoyed being a free spirited Gypsy for the shows.  Actually it might be pretty close to my personality.

Jimmy is off to Aspen to play in the John Denver Tribute Festival

Jazz Notes – Ringwood RSL – Sundays

We wondered what we’d do with our Sunday afternoons.

So many of our regular performance locations were closing down, or not supporting live music anymore- or they were just getting too far away.

We absolutely love what we do so we worked hard and approached a few local venues and it was with great excitement that we obtained a residency at the Ringwood RSL.  We’d expected something regular once a month but the Management and Staff were excited too – they offered us a weekly spot – Sunday afternoons 2 – 5pm.  We play as an instrumental trio (in varying combinations) and will bring our favorite singers to the mix every couple of weeks.

Our Line-up for the first two weeks was:- Ann Craig (flute), Kevin Blazé (guitar), Daniel Pickard bass)

We’ve brought along Tony Luxmoore (piano), Wade Morgan (vocal), Frank Morgan (Bass).  We’ll be introducing Doug Kuhn (bass), Jan Blake (vocal) and Mark Dipnal (clarinet) over the next few weeks.

So come on down to the Ringwood RSL – 16 Station Street, Ringwood.  Become a member – the meals and drinks are very reasonable.  The location is great – lots of parking, very welcoming atmosphere, Staff will really look after you and you can listen to FREE LIVE MUSIC on a Sunday afternoon.
