Jazz Notes @ Ringwood RSL – November & December, 2015

We have enjoyed Jazz on Sundays at the RSL since August – every Sunday.  It’s been loads of fun, playing with so many of our friends.

Daniel, Tony, Frank, Wade, Jan, Risa, Sevil, Joshua, Mark, David.

We will take a break till 31st January and look forward to seeing lots of our friends and family back in the new year.

Standing Tall – October & November, 2015

It’s been great Standing Tall, but sometimes good things come to an end.

I was finding it increasingly difficult, getting to rehearsals in Brunswick and getting to the regular monthly Sunday Gig because of my commitments with Jazz Notes.  Wasn’t fair on the rest of Standing Tall so it was with some sadness I had to leave the band.

I really loved playing with everyone, Stan, Suzanne, Tim, Laurie, Brae, Simon, Dean, Nikola.  I will always support these guys – just love the music, but could no longer stretch myself.

I especially thank Stan for giving me the opportunity to play with this band, I have had such a great experience.  Got the opportunity to record 2 CD’s.  Played at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, Castlemaine, Halls Gap, Dizzy’s, Open Studio, 303 and so much more – xxx thanks for the opportunity.

Jazz Notes – New Band – Caught in the Act!

It’s been a few years in the pipeline but we finally did it.  Augmented Jazz Notes with the sounds of piano, saxophone and a funky feel.  Sort of had a trial run at this at Inverloch this year – it went down really well.

It has been one of Kevin’s dreams for a while and I was happy to help make this happen.

We are aiming to have the band ready for Halls Gap in 2016, but before that we will do an opening gig at Sash Bar (previously known as Ember Lounge)

The band for Sash Bar will include Wade Morgan (vocal), Ann Craig (flute) Kevin Blazé (guitar), Tony Wharton (sax), Tony Luxmoore (keys), Daniel Pickard (bass), Paul Phillips (drums).  Looking forward to warming up the Summer with these guys.

in 2016 the band will continue with a Funky, Latin, Jazz feel – Look out for us in Halls Gap – Caught in the Act!
