While the cat’s away…. as they say..

I really enjoy playing with my very special friend Jan Blake (and her band Body and Soul), they were the ones who drew me into jazz so many years ago. xxx

When Jan asked me to play with her – how could I refuse – She knows I love it.  We had a fantastic gig at The Frankston Bowls Club. A very appreciative and well attended audience.  And I was so thrilled to be invited to play.

On that same afternoon my friends Jazz Notes found themselves a clashing Gig (OOPS!) but lucky for me – my beautiful and talented daughter, Ashley stepped up and filled in for me, for what might have been, (or clearly wasn’t) my spot.  They played at Farouk’s Olive in Thornbury to an audience?

… well that’s what we did.

We played a nice mix of jazz, pop, bossa, funk, swing, and as usual,� we played requests -� happily!.

Daniel survived our friendly fire! (or was it?)

Open Studio in Northcote and is a lovely, cozy venue.

Open Studio host many musicians, all from different musical genres, and I’ve figured quite a lot drag their following with them.

We like to play for whoever is in attendance.

We have our friends and family, but Northcote is sometimes too far for our regular followers.

We were very happy to head to Northcote and perform a few more afternoons in 2016.

We had some members from the MJMG meetup group

join us and, typically we played special requests on the afternoons.

Some very happy audience members with lovely feedback. We hope we will get the chance to perform at Open Studio again in 2017.

We had been so happy to find a new venue in Brunswick and our meetup group had settled

in nicely at Basco… but they had some issues with some maintenance and unfortunately from July we couldn’t regularly hold an event at Basco.� We are hoping that 2017 will see us back in Brunswick with our full house band.� Watch this space for news…
