“Life is a lot like Jazz……. It’s best when you improvise” – George Gershwin.
“Playing a flute is like writing a book. You’re telling what’s in your heart…It’s easier to play if it’s right from your heart. You get the tone, and the fingers will follow.” – Eddie Cahill

About Music Ann
There’s nothing better than being able to play an instrument!
I was lucky enough to have been born into a musical family. My grandfather played the most beautiful piano, his mother was a concert pianist, my father has always played reeds and brass instruments and my mother is a vocalist. Music of some form would be being played every day in our house. There was no escaping it.
When people ask me how I came to play my instruments, I can honestly say it comes from being immersed in music from a young age.
Why the Flute? – My parents were given a very old flute which I tried, made a sound with, so it all began. It wasn’t easy, but with persistence I managed to pick up some impressive skills. I moved to other reed instruments for fun and also took up Trombone (Valve).
I am based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. I specialise in Flute but also teach Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano/keyboard and Trumpet.
I teach privately, from my home studio and I also travel to local primary schools in the Croydon, Ringwood and Blackburn areas, running individual and group lessons. This is an “in-school” music lesson program. For School based lessons, please contact Creative Music For Schools
I perform with many bands and as a solo artist. Just ask anyone who knows me – I just love it!
